UrbanRide
was co-founded by Jeremy and Emily Milikow, former
Wall Street investment bankers, in late 1999. They
chose the name UrbanRide because it sounded a bit
edgy and unique.
They had a vision for a high quality, global ground
transportation service for meeting and event planners.
They wanted to create a company that would be a strategic
partner for meeting and event planners providing
an overwhelming level of service and support.
The first step was to create the necessary software
system to service the business. On November 30, 1999,
the Company began to develop a custom-made software
system to handle transportation on a global scale.
It needed to have the functionality and sophistication
to handle a large number of complex group events
simultaneously in different countries and different
time zones. The system was designed with all of the
functionalities needed to provide ground transportation
to groups of all sizes. Each event would have unique
characteristics and requirements, and the system
needed to be flexible and robust.
Over the next year, the development of the software
system evolved tremendously, and in March 2001, UrbanRide
was launched with five employees. The software system
continues to evolve and is constantly going through
upgrades. The company has added

UrbanRide’s philosophy was always clear: to
be the best ground transportation company for meetings
and events. The Company prides itself on cultivating
and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with
meeting and event planners and the meeting planner
community. UrbanRide has grown over the years, as
its meeting & event planner clients have moved
around, advanced in their careers and have introduced
UrbanRide to their new companies. In addition, the
company is actively involved in MPI and ISES and
maintains an advisory board of senior meeting & event
planners.
Today the company has 20 employees, and operates
24/7/365, around the clock and around the world. |
